When the greenhouse effect gets more and more enhanced, it leads to global warming. It is estimated that since the Industrial Revolution, the concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide have increased by 30, 145, and 15 per cent respectively. If the accumulation continues, research suggests that the average global surface temperature could increase by almost 0.5°C each decade over the next century. Climatologists call this phenomenon of rising global temperatures global warming.
